In Cyberdawn: Beginnings by Mark Anthony Tierno, humanity is faced with a powerful threat and a few heroes are racing against time to stop an apocalypse. It is supposed to be the age of utter peace where no weapons exist and where countries live in absolute harmony.
But the campaign for peace has been a subterfuge for the Masters who are silently preparing humanity for slaughter. They are creatures that a few believe exist — werewolves, winged tigers, ghouls, and more. The People’s manipulation is real and Black Jack Hannigan knows there is so little time to stop what is to come. An investigation leads to a mysterious, ancient site in New Mexico. To stop the insidious scheme, Black Jack and his friends will need top-of-the-line weapons, the ones developed by Dr. Rebecca Winter. But how much time do they have before The Masters destroy the Earth?
Mark Anthony offers readers a protagonist they will love and a tale they will devour with a lot of appetites. Readers who enjoy mind-blowing conspiracy, cyberpunk, and futuristic science fiction narratives will adore Cyberdawn: The Beginnings. The protagonist is an ex-cop, a man who has seen and solved his fair share of crimes and has experienced mystery in a challenging moment in his career. He is intelligent and unstoppable, the kind of character who gets to the bottom of things.
The novel’s premise is a compelling, captivating one. Imagine a world where there is no violence and where humanity doesn’t worry about war. Then imagine what would happen if the unarmed population were to face an invincible force. That is what this story is about and readers will love the twists the author introduces, the dazzling world-building, and the wonderful prose. The author’s creativity and intriguing characterization stand out in this novel and readers who enjoy science fiction, as well as urban fantasy, will find a space to inhabit in this spellbinding story.

Robert “Black Jack” Hannigan was a strong-willed Los Angeles cop who can go to any extent to solve crime, even if it means using brute force. He has a reputation that goes before him, until a priest and long-time friend was viciously murdered in mysterious circumstances right in his presence. All available evidence proves beyond reasonable doubt that Black Jack was the culprit. However, he knew he was innocent but until he is able to prove that, he will remain a fugitive on the run.
Cyberdawn captured events that occurred in a futuristic timeline; during a period of self-driven cars, humanoids, mainstream church facing extinction, and demonic creatures etc. The world having changed so much from what it used to be in virtually all facets of life.
Characters in the book include Father Malakai, Black Jack, Anya Petrova, Agent Charity, Agent Black, Hyram Yaeger, Officer Thomas, Arch Bishop O’Malley, Rebecca Winter, and Doctor Falvy etc.
At 746-page long, Cyberdawn:Beginnings is quite a voluminous book, but to its credit, there were no fluff instead it’s fast paced and highly entertaining. This is a thrilling book that will keep you on the edge as you turn its seemingly endless pages!

The world has changed. Or has it? Many unusual events are happening. No one has any idea why. Black Jack Hannigan has seen things he can’t explain. He’s heard things no one else has. Moving the world ever closer to unity. It seems everything is all tied up with a big bright bow. Black Jack thinks everything is happening just a bit fast. He gathers some friends to check it all out. Will his investigations cause more problems?
This book is a very different look at the possibilities. Mr. Tierno gave this book just the right twists and turns to keep you involved. This book brought to mind an old Twilight Zone episode. The writing and characters in this book are fantastic. While including the changes to our world, Mr. Tierno added even more new things to our world. Well written, fantastic characters and a story in class by itself will keep you turning pages until the end. This book will leave you breathless. Get your copy NOW!
I found no issues.
I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because it truly is an engaging and unique look at what our world could be.

Cyberdawn: Beginnings by Mark Anthony Tierno is a whopper of a science fiction novel of conspiracy theories that would have Alex Jones flipping pages. It’s a massive book with a lot going on inside its chapters, but Tierno is such an entertaining writer that the story goes by too fast, leaving you wanting more. And that’s the good part because this is the first in a five-book series. This imaginative tale is overflowing with an intriguing plot, fresh characters, energetic dialogue, and vibrant prose. The story poses a world without weapons because peace is finally here and violence is a thing of the past. It’s what everyone has wanted since mankind began. But the main character, Black Jack Hannigan, suspects the worst-case scenario: That no weapons, no defense, means people are ripe for slaughter. And in this case, sacrificial offerings. The people of Earth don’t realize it, but they need weapons of self-defense because they’ve been lulled into a false sense of security and utopia. This is where Black Jack and Dr. Winter come into play. They want to arm citizens against slaughter by The Masters/creatures, but will it be enough? If the Eye of the Apocalypse opens, is it too late?
This is an ambitious tale combining science fiction, fantasy, mythology, horror, creatures, cyberpunk, and some surprises. Tierno writes with the immediacy of a screenplay–perfect for such a sprawling story and much appreciated. The pace of the plot is quick, the action dynamic, the violence necessary but not over the top. The supporting characters like Hyram and Archbishop O’Malley add to the colorful cast. You’ll zip through the story like a graphic novel, and it has a vitality that’s visceral. If you like race-against-time plots that keep you turning pages, you need to read Cyberdawn: Beginnings by Mark Anthony Tierno.
