Okay, so you’ve heard me talking about Maldene, hints about the story, characters, and places, and how epic it is, but what exactly am I talking about. What I say that this story redefines “epic”, just how true is my statement? Well, I’m here to give just a few hints; just enough to whet the appetite.
The first novel, “Maldene” might itself qualify as an epic. At 330,000 words it had to be divided up into two volumes so that you people might buy something that big from an unknown new author like myself. It sees the characters traveling across three continents on the world of Maldene, as well as discovering a pathway to an entire different world. Within the first eight chapters we meet a 300-foot dragon bent on killing our heroes, and that’s not even close to being the main event. The first 2-volume novel is equivalent in length and scope to the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Across vast seas, into Tedelnosho, the Great Whirlpool, through the Sea Of A Thousand Islands, a visit to the Harbor Of The World, and a meeting with a great King- the only one even trying to figure out how to combat the most evil villain known, the wizard, Miro.
And yet, despite all this, the first Maldene novel equates to but the first chapter in what might be termed a mega-novel in thirteen parts. Yes, the entire Maldene story is thirteen novels long. 5.2 million words, some 250-odd characters, and a story that covers many thousands of years, hundreds of worlds, dimensions, and realities, and a plot that will shake the stars themselves… and beyond.
So, when I say epic, that might be a rather weak word to describe the story of Maldene. More hints coming in the future, but just know this: Maldene is unlike any story you have ever read.
